No Pity in the Queen City
Nicknamed “Town without Pity,” Cincinnati is home to two of the most feared coliseums for visiting colleges: the University of Cincinnati’s Nippert Stadium and Fifth Third Arena.
And it’s not the architecture—though the school does have some of the most, well, innovative buildings. It’s all about the brutally vocal Bearcat Nation. From the marching band pre-game football tradition of charging down Nippert Stadium stairs and storming the field to the sold-out roar of Fifth Third Arena, Red and Black pride echoes and terrorizes Cincy opponents. Since 1989—the first year both stadiums were active—the Bearcats have notched a 320-172 record in basketball and twice as many wins as losses at home in football. Ohhhh, Ohhhh, UC!
